This is a holiday season. It's very lively and cute to put fair lights on plants, decorating. Especially bring some happy things to our kids, families and ourself in this tough virus time. But Will the decorative lights affect plants growth?
Actually it will have some influence on the lights growth.
Plants need Rest
Like people, plants also need rest after a long day growing. Our human do most of our growth and repair during sleep, even weight loss happens when sleep as well. Sleep is good for everyone, also for plants growth. They are sensitive to light, and need darkness to rest. If we light fair light all night on the plants, it will affact plant. But if you only light in daylight, and turn off 4-6 hours in night, it's won't have such an influence on plants growth.
Attracting Insects
Usually insects are sensitive to lights, perticular in summer. We may find many insects bugs around the lights. If we have light on plants, they will take the risk of bug bites plants, have babies, even bring disease. But if the weather is cold, they will be less possibility to have insects. It seems ok.
We could have fair lights for decorating, but it's better to off light in night, let plants rest. And choose cold light in summer.
