Is it ok to leave grow lights on 24 hours?
Not Recommended.
In nature, plants need a light-dark cycle to develop properly. They also need rest as our humen during darkness night. Most planys expect to get at least 12 hours of light a day.
During the day, plants absorb sulight and turn it into energy, at night, the respiration process turns the energy into carbohydrates which plants store for later use.
Photosynthesis cannot happen without light. Although respiration can happen all the time, but darkness could well trigger it.
If i accidently leave my Grow Light on for 24 hours, what it will be?
If your plants are in the vegetative stage, don't worry, they will be fine. Even though it's not recommended to light 24 hours, it won't kill your plants as long as they're in the vegetative phase.
If your plants are in the flowering stage, it may be a big problem. Because cannabis plants are very sensitive to photoperiods when flowering. It may let plants re-enter vegetative stages for more than 12 hours lighting. Then it may take more weeks to re-enter flowering stages.
Lights intensity and amount are also very important to plants growth.
Some plants need bright and intense light while other plants need low or indirect light. A plant that looks dull and has small leaves than it should be usually is lacking of light. Of course, it plants receive too much light, it's also not good. Plants will turn yellow in color and may eventually be covered in patches of dead, burnt tissue.
